More New Zealand

Today was a fairly relaxed day, drove down to Milford sound and did a short cruise through the fjord and out to the sea. I took heaps of pictures and a fair bit of them turned out good. The scenery was amazing and the weather was perfect.

Yesturday we went jetboating and in the gondola up the mountain. In the jetboats they do all kinds of crazy 360s and the passages are pretty narrow. Before that we went glacier climbing in Frans Josef which was a great time too. Some of the crevices are really tight and you have to slide your way through the ice to get through it. Tomorrow I'm going bungee jumping off of some pod suspended by wires. Its the second highest in the world so it will be scary and hopefully fun. I'll try to get some pics of it for a bit later to post.

Here is a short selection of some of the recent trips and stuff, I will post more when I get back to Sydney too.

This was at the glacier on the way up to it.

Finally some pics

I have finally found some time to get online for a little while, although it is a 1:30am. My trip has been going excellent so far, I got to do a few fun things and there is more on the way.

So far we have driven from Christchurch to Picton and then took the ferry across to the north island. From there we drove through Wellington, through Taupo and into Rotorua for a couple nights. In Rotorua I went zorbing and also went to see some of the hotsprings and mudpools. After that I headed to Waitomo to go caving which was incredible. After abseiling down 100 meters into the cave you walk for a little while and then take a zipcord ride in the dark. After the zipride we had a cup of tea and a snack and then jumped into the underground river with inflatable tubes. As we floated down the river we could see glow worms in the ceiling, we then rode down a small waterfall thing and then swam for a bit before climbing up a few waterfalls to get back outside. From there we headed to Auckland for a night and we have just returned to Wellington to take the ferry back to the South island for glacier hiking in a couple days time. My roommate has all the caving pics (from outside the cave) so I will have to get those later. Enjoy these for now!

This was the first place I stayed at in Picton. It was a pretty cosy place with nice scenery too.

On the ferry to the north island, it was rough waters later on too that made it a little more interesting.

Wine show

Well I haven't posted in a little while so I figured I would put a couple pics up. Me and a couple friends went to the Sydney International Wine show last night for some fun and of course some drinks. Once you pay the admission you can sample all the wine you like. There was even a place with beer there too so we got to switch it up a little.

After we went to the Starcity casino and won a bit of cash before heading to the liquor store to pick up some beer. Had a couple drinks in the McDonalds on George street before heading back to my place. I though we went to sleep after that but apparently we walked for like half an hour to Kings Cross to go to the Empire hotel and then walked back again. Over all we did pretty good considering thats the first time I have actually walked the right way home from Kings Cross and I don't remember any of it. I even found unopenned drinks on the way!

Today I headed over to the Bondi Junction mall for some aimless wandering. I took a couple random pictures in there before heading back home to clean my place up a bit and get ready for work tomorrow.

Happy Canada Day!

Don't think that just because I'm in Australia I would miss out on the Canada day celebrations. I met up with a bunch of fellow Canadians from my University at a bar after which we went to the Raddison just up the street from me for some champagne before coming back to my place for a few more drinks. After we headed to King's Cross for a festive party. Me and Elliot tried to walk back at the end of the night but but that point I was pretty useless with directions and so we ended up near Bondi beach. Luckily a cab was cruising through the area so we got sorted out fine in the end. I will put some of my pictures up later but for now here are some that

This was at my place before heading out to the bar.
