New Publish

Well as many people now know, NC has started to implement the LOA ruleset to all US servers. Before i get into my thoughts on this, here is a few boss drops over the past 2 days...Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Anyways, personally i feel this will be good for the lineage community. This gives NC more control over the game and will let them makes changes which benefit our servers. While the korean servers enjoy high server populations, we do not. Therefore drop rates which are acceptable there are discouraging here.

While there are things i do like about the LOA ruleset (new bows for elfs, no soft ac) there are others which i think would hinder the already impotent PvP situation (such as Hell, going chao for 1% exp loss). I think if they are going to implement a Hell system they should either design a quest so that players can get special scrolls which teleport them out of Hell, but which are very time consuming to get. Personally i rather them just remove it fully, or maybe implement it as rather a new challenging place to hunt.

Apart from the challenges of making rulesets which appeal to the broad spectrum of players, i think the benefits of having a larger server population would negate any discrepancies. Actually having a sufficient population to seige would bring back an aspect to lineage that has been lacking on dep for a long time. While we personally own all the castles, and may contribute to the problem, often the castles have gone unchallenged when owned by NPC's.

So for those against the hell system, there are a few threads started on the lineage.com boards to complain, and i guess its a matter of time to see how things work out.
